Location

Along the Governing Vessel on the midline of the back, neck, head

Needling technique

Depth: 0.3-0.8 cun (5-15 mm)
Direction: Perpendicular or oblique

Indications

Back pain, headache, dizziness, mental disorders, epilepsy, fever, common cold

Contraindications

Risk for points on the upper back (GV-9 to GV-16) - needle obliquely, shallow depth. Avoid deep needling on the spine. Contraindicated in pregnancy (lower back).
