Location
In the neck, in the depression between the upper border of the sternocleidomastoid and trapezius muscles
Needling technique
Depth: 0.8-1.2 cun (15-25 mm)
Direction: Medial towards the nostril - DO NOT needle laterally or towards the eye!
Indications
Headache, migraine, neck pain, stiffness, dizziness, hypertension, common cold, nasal congestion, tinnitus
Contraindications
NEVER needle laterally or towards the eye - risk of entering the brainstem through the foramen magnum. Medial direction only. Avoid deep needling.
