Location
Along the Bladder meridian pathway on the head, neck, back, leg, foot
Needling technique
Depth: 0.5-1.5 cun (10-30 mm)
Direction: Perpendicular or oblique towards the spine
Indications
Back pain, sciatica, headache, eye disorders, urinary disorders, common cold
Contraindications
Risk of pneumothorax for points on the upper back (BL-11 to BL-17). Needle obliquely (45°) towards the spine, NOT perpendicular. Avoid deep needling on the spine. Contraindicated in pregnancy (lower back points).
