Location
In the lower back, 1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of the 4th lumbar vertebra (L4)
Needling technique
Depth: 0.5-1 cun (10-20 mm)
Direction: Perpendicular towards the spine
Indications
Low back pain, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain, intestinal obstruction, IBS
Contraindications
Avoid in acute constipation with severe abdominal pain. Caution in pregnancy.
