Location
In the upper back, 1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of the 3rd thoracic vertebra (T3)
Needling technique
Depth: 0.5-0.8 cun (10-16 mm)
Direction: 45° oblique towards the spine (medial) - DO NOT needle perpendicular!
Indications
Cough, asthma, wheezing, dyspnea, bronchitis, lung infections, sore throat, fever, skin rashes
Contraindications
Risk of pneumothorax - do not needle deep. Use extreme caution in patients with emphysema, COPD, or thin body type.
